With the recently enacted rigorous state mandate for physical education, a comprehensive aquatic fitness program only makes sense. It will provide another avenue for exercise, combat childhood obesity, and reduce the number of Norman’s youth that fall victim to drowning.
A typical day at the swim complex might go like this:
6 am to 8 am: High school competitive swimming and diving practice
8 am to noon: Learn-to-swim programs for elementary students
12 pm to 2 pm: Aquatic therapy for special needs students
3 pm to 5 pm: High school competitive swimming and diving practice
5 pm to 6 pm: Community swim club practice on a fee basis
6 pm to 8 pm: Lap swimming and aerobic exercise for the community
