An aquatic facility requires staffing. It is recommended that four full time life guards/certified swim instructors are needed to guard the pool during competitive practice times and assist Physical Education and Special Education instructors with swim lessons and other programs.
Other pool staff (3 technicians, 2 coordinators, and a manager) would tend to the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and management of the swim complex.
For the school district to maximize the use of the swim complex, personnel will be needed to get students to the pool and ensure their safety once there. Two full-time bus drivers driving 1/2 size buses (short buses) could take students from various schools to the complex and back again. Two buses and drivers would ensure that valuable learning time is not lost waiting on buses at school or at the Swim Complex.
